Feather Busby Oh Dear!

On our night in Irkutsk we met up with Andrea who we had travelled from Moscow with. She had been in Irkutsk for a couple of days so had found some places for supper.
We chose the British Club which had been recommended. Walked round from the hotel to be greeted by a person impersonating a soldier outside Buckingham Palace. EXCEPT he had a very short red jacket, trousers too (not short) and a busby made of black feathers!!!!!
Now if you can't get a proper bearskin in Russia where can you get one? I wonder where the Queens gets her chaps' bearskins from?
Anyway apart from that we had great fun and they had great gin and tonic. Supper was Russian because we chose it that way. We could have had fish and chips and towards the end of the evening a large group of Russian men who had been eating too began to sing along with one of their number who played a guitar. Great evening and a great farewell to Andrea who is flying back to Moscow tomorrow.
