What we did not see

If you only stay for one night in a city, we have found that our guides are quite severe with us because they say we should stay longer. When we say we are only doing what Grandpa did we are forgiven but still are reminded several times about what we might have seen if we had stayed longer.
In Harbin it was a Russian Cathedral and a beautiful park. Given that it was raining all the time we were there I think we saw the best that we could from under umbrellas
In Changchun it was the Emperors Palace. Puyi was the last Emperor of China and after a chequered life he died in Beijing as a gardener. The Palace built for him is apparently fabulous but not on our itinerary with only such a short time there. Puyi is the subject of the film "The Last Emperor" which I have not seen. I will when we come home.
Today what we did not see is Port Arthur which is 60km outside Dalian and is also a very important tourist attraction.
We are absolutely not complaining because we are not so much here as tourists but in the footsteps of Grandpa but we do think this part of China has a lot to offer tourists who may have done the Wall, Warriors thing and still want more. Manchuria which is where we are holds a hugely important place in Chinas History and I well worth coming to.
Google it. That is more than we can do at the moment!
