Since we left England 16 days ago we have had some interesting experiences as you will know.
Understanding menus has not always been easy but we have managed so far. What has amazed us is the ubiquitous nature of pork pies (or pork pie type things) and Magnums!
Honestly on most of the stations on the Trans Siberian Train amongst the items of food for sale have been pies with meat, (it maybe pork) and Magnums. Yes Magnums.
Anyone who knows Tone knows that he used to eat a pork pie and a Magnum for his lunch often when he was on the road many years ago and it does not take much for him to revert to this favourite meal now.
So far he has resisted as it does not seem to be right to eat Magnums in far off Siberia but who knows if he will be strong for the next three days before we leave Siberian for Manchuria. They may have Magnums there too.
