Nearly there!

We woke up at 6.30 and the scenery has changed again. The crops in the fields are at least a foot high and everywhere there are peach, almond and cherry trees coming into blossom.

At about 3 in the morning smelly feet got off the train only to be replaced by an equally shocked Chinese man who said nothing because there was no one to complain to at that time. He hot bedded with the smelly man!! Talk about first class. I am glad we got on at the beginning of the trip. We have had some odd cultural experiences but hot bedding with a stranger would have been a step too far.

We crossed the Yangtze at Nanjing. It is huge and very busy with big barges and other shipping.

We are almost there!
